Faulty ringer is a major cause of this problem China mobile g5 L288 - J228 no ringtone, no sound. You can fix this issue with changing or repairing ringer. Ringer is attached with cell phone motherboard by wires. Some time broken wire or burning ringer coil is repairable. Open your cell phone case exit motherboard from inner and follow these steps.

1. Check ringer wire and ringer coil with check meter, missing wire use new wire on ringer connections.
2. Check ringer connection points on PCB, If missing one or both two make jumper same as diagram above.
3. Check positive 3.5 volts on capacitor positive point, These volts comes from a battery positive points.
4. Make jumper same as diagram shown below with fatty jumper wire. If there are no voltages.
5. Clean and heat sound ic with hot air.
6. Change sound ic.
